1. What Depends on the Product You Use

Some parts of zygote.ro still run primarily in your browser. For those tools, the content you enter may stay local to your device unless a feature clearly requires a server request.

Our newer social game features, including score submission, leaderboard ranking, and share card generation, do require limited server-side processing. Because of that, the site no longer operates on a universal "no data collection" model.

2. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people use the site and improve the experience. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information such as:

Pages you visit and approximate time spent on them
Referring pages and general traffic patterns
Browser, device, and operating system information
Approximate geographic information derived by Google

We do not intentionally send gameplay drawings, generator inputs, names, or contact messages to GA4. Google may process IP-related data as part of its service delivery subject to Google's own policies.

3. Gameplay Sessions and Leaderboards

When you play a game mode that supports rankings, we create a short-lived gameplay session on our backend. To verify scores and reduce abuse, we may process and store:

A generated session ID
The game key and board or mode key
Game configuration such as shape and cut count
Your submitted replay data, such as stroke paths needed to verify the result
Verified score information, rank values, percentages, and related metadata
Hashed versions of technical signals such as IP address and user agent
Timestamps related to issuance, verification, and leaderboard entry creation

We use this information to issue a session, verify that a replay is valid, compute or store leaderboard results, estimate percentile placement, and help protect the integrity of the game.

4. Share Cards

If you generate a share card, the image you choose to create is uploaded to our backend so we can store and serve a public preview page and image for sharing. Share cards are linked to a verified gameplay session and may be publicly accessible by anyone with the share URL.

Please avoid generating or sharing images that contain personal, sensitive, or confidential information.

5. Infrastructure and Service Providers

We use third-party infrastructure providers to operate the site. At the time of this policy, that includes:

Cloudflare for hosting, edge delivery, API handling, and database-backed game features
Google Analytics for site analytics

These providers may process technical data as part of delivering their services to us.

6. Data Retention

We may keep verified leaderboard records and share-card records for as long as they remain useful for the product experience, including ranking history, public result pages, and abuse prevention. Short-lived gameplay sessions may expire automatically, but related verified records may persist after verification.

7. External Links and Public Sharing

Our website may link to external services such as GitHub or X. If you choose to share a result externally, your interaction with that service is governed by that platform's own terms and privacy policy, not ours.

8. Children's Privacy

zygote.ro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
